Very nice place to camp there is a beach trails and a park for the kids

So we were not impressed we are probably not going to camp here ever and probably not recommend it to friend and family. Though it's probably a decent park. I believe service is just as important and Ranger Dick didn't serve this park well.

It had the feeling that his only intention was to write my ticket and that was it. We were the only truck there we had a Michigan plate. When he told me that we didn't pay the $3 I asked him where the clerk was that I was supposed to pay in which his response was "uhhh".

Wonderful place to spend the day with your family, go swimming, have a picnic and just play.

Nice all around campground with trails and a lake close to several waterfalls... Great place to camp!

My extended family and I were traveling around and scoping out campgrounds for our upcoming weeklong camping trip. Entering the park a sign states all vehicles must pay $3 to enter. Not an enormous amount and normally not a problem. As the directions were not clear nor where to deposit my $3 or what proof I would receive that I had Indeed paid the admittance fee. We proceeded to enter the park as our intention was to just see if it would be a place a group of us would like to camp. As we entered the park we didn't find a office nor any personnel that could assist us with any info on the park. We proceeded to drive through the campground that was fairly full and seemingly well equipped. We proceeded to the park area and small beach. As we were on the road for a few hours with toddlers we got out to stretch our legs. After our litteral 10 min walk around the park and a couple diaper changes we headed back to the truck. Where we found a park ranger writing a ticket for not paying for the admittance fee. Now I admit I was technically in the wrong. This has never been a problem at many other parks. We were not abusing anything nor doing anything to draw attention to ourselves. The ranger never seeked to find the owner it was literally the only vehicle in the lot. It had the feeling that we were being singled out and slightly taken. We were turned off by the rangers overzealous behavior and we ultimately choose a different campground because of this. We were more than willing to pay the fee but ended up paying $10 because Ranger Dick was on a power trip. Also note that if the $10 fee isn't paid within 10 days it then goes to the state and a actual citation is written and then you will be charged $150. We put the $10 in the envelope and went to hand it to Ranger Dick and he wasn't able to take the payment. The payment had to go in the pole at the entrance of the park. I think it's fine for parks to charge for an entrance fee but if you are going to be strict enough to pass out tickets then you should have someone at the gate checking before they enter and to help guest along with your policies rather than trapping well behaved guest. Also other things to take note is there is no trash cans in the park or bathrooms therefore if you have a full diaper you will be carrying that out as well.

Not a pleasant experience.

Very clean family oriented
